Populus tremuloides
Sevenoaks Native Nursery specializes in Quaking Aspen, growing more than 150,000 seedlings each year.
Seed Source We grow aspen using a northern Idaho seed source. We have found that trees from that seed source have a resistance to black spot, a fungal disease that plagues aspen trees. Growers who had given up growing aspen in the wet Willamette Valley now have aspen they are proud to sell by using this seed source.

Roots All our aspen are grown from seed in sand beds, not dug from the wild. Our bareroot aspen are guaranteed to have full, well-branched, healthy roots.
Potted We also have an extensive supply of container aspen ranging from 1 gallon size to 3"+ caliper in 20 gallon pots or in 18" Root Control bags. We grow them as single trunk trees and in clump form (three or more trunks).
Bareroot definitions 1/0 means the plant was one year in the ground, started as a seed. 1/1 means the plant was one year in the ground from seed, then transplanted and grown one more year in the field.
Grading Size We use two criteria when grading aspen 1/0 seedlings: Caliper - the size of the stem at the soil level Height
** Caliper sizing means customers can expect uniform growth **
