Habit: hollow stemmed herbaceous perennial covered in tiny star shaped hairs. Basal leaves are nearly round with large rounded teeth; upper leaves are palmately divided into lobed divisions. Inflorescence is a densely clustered spike of many brightly pink flowers turning to deep purple with fading. Blooms from May-July.
Ecology: uncommon, found only in Western Oregon in riparian zones and other open and moist habitats.
Growing Conditions: full sun to partial shade in moist to wet soil.
Butterflies are highly attracted to Sidalcea cusickii. Considered to be rare or threatened in its natural habitat.
